Yahoo! Movies has debuted the first trailer for the Sundance hit "The Diary of a Teenage Girl," an adaptation of the acclaimed 2002 graphic novel by Phoebe Gloeckner.

Written and directed by newcomer Marielle Heller, the coming-of-age story is set in 1976 San Francisco, where 15-year-old Minnie Goetze (Bel Powley) begins a complex love affair with her mom's boyfriend Monroe Rutherford (Alexander Skarsgard), "the handsomest man in the world."

Also starring Kristen Wiig and Christopher Meloni, "The Diary of a Teenage Girl" opens Aug. 7 in select theaters.
