Whether it's the recitation of Ezekiel 25:17 in "Pulp Fiction" or the meme-launching screed in "Snakes on a Plane," Samuel L. Jackson has demonstrated a knack for making movie dialogue his own. That ability was put to the test last night during the actor's appearance on "The Late Show," to hilarious results.

Host Stephen Colbert challenged Jackson to put his unique spin of iconic catchphrases from such films as "Gone With the Wind," "The Princess Bride," "Dirty Dancing" and, best of all, "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." Now, of course, we're left to imagine how different the fantasy epic might have been if Jackson had been cast as a finger-waving Gandalf.

Colbert predicted the catchphrases would be Jackson's "forever, regardless of how they originated." He may very well be right.
