South by Southwest has been introducing a lot of great pop culture news and featurettes, including this new video from the set of AMC's newest comic book adaptation, "Preacher."

REALTED: Tom Cruise Makes an Explosive Appearance in "Preacher" Pilot

"Preacher" is the story of Jesse Custer ("Agent Carter's" Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse embarks on a journey to, literally, find God, joined by his ex-girlfriend Tulip ( "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" Ruth Negga) and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy ("The Last Witch Hunter's" Joseph Gilgun.)

The series is based on the comic book of the same name, which was written by Garth Ennis and published by Vertigo. The series is produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg ("Pineapple Express," "The Interview,") and Sam Catlin ("Breaking Bad.")

In the video below, Rogen, Goldberg, and Catlin discuss what a joy it was to work on this show, how excited they are for the premiere, and the journey they have been on to finally get the series made.

"Preacher" joins AMC's strong line up of intense dramas like "The Walking Dead," "Fear the Walking Dead," "Better Call Saul" and "Halt and Catch Fire."

"Preacher" premieres May 22 on AMC.
