The legendary Hulk Hogan took to YouTube today for a very special announcement: WWE Studios and Warner Bros. Animation are set to collaborate once again with a sequel to 2014's Scooby Doo! WrestleMania Mystery -- but the second time around, there's a major difference.
"This time, the sequel is starring yours truly, brother!" Hogan declared in his video announcement. "Sequels have to be bigger and better than the originals. That's why this one is going to have faster-paced action, more scares and of course me, Hulk Hogan. Ruh-roh!"
The original Scooby Doo! WrestleMania Mystery, released in March 2014, saw Scooby and the gang interacting with a number of WWE Superstars while they solved a mystery at WrestleMania, including John Cena, Michael Cole, Kane, AJ Lee, Santino Marella, The Miz, Triple H and Mr. McMahon. A number of other characters appeared as non-speaking animated figures.
"Scooby-Doo and the world of WWE are a perfect combination, so I can’t describe our task of crafting this movie as challenging — it was pure joy!" WrestleMania Mystery director Brandon Vietti told Spinoff Online in March. "We’re always looking for new adventures for Scooby and the gang, and the world of WWE was fertile ground for a truly unique story. The characters from both sides are larger than life and so well defined that they almost write themselves. They only needed a little push into each other’s worlds and suddenly a Scooby-Doo movie like no other was born."
