In the first promo for AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead," Nick (Frank Dillane) takes some drastic measures to escape an unseen threat. The footage follows him as he leaps out a window and runs down an alley into a street; it seems as though whoever is giving chase has caught him with his pants down, though, as he struggles to keep them from falling off during his mad dash.

The "Walking Dead" spinoff, slated to debut in August with a six-episode first season, already has a two-season order. The show is set in Los Angeles, and is said to depict a different perspective on the zombie apocalypse viewers have been tuning in to watch on "The Walking Dead." "Fear" features characters original to the show, not previously seen in the Image Comics source material. The show stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Mercedes Mason and Ruben Blades, among others.

While plans are to eventually synch up timeline-wise with the East Coast-based "The Walking Dead," viewers will first get to see the world in its waning pre-apocalypse setting, as revealed in the series' first photos.

"Fear the Walking Dead" premieres on AMC this August.
