WATCH: "Fear The Walking Dead" Opening Scene Debuts Online

If you can't wait for the premiere of AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" this Sunday, you're in luck. The network has posted the show's opening scene to the "Fear the Walking Dead" Facebook page, giving fans an early look at what's in store for the "Walking Dead" spinoff.

Expanding on a scene we've already seen glimpses of, the opening features Nick (Frank Dillane), the heroin junkie son of Madison Clark ((Kim Dickens ) waking up in an abandoned church to discover something the rest of the world is just beginning to learn: the dead have risen and are ravenous for human flesh.

The network has also debuted a new featurette offering a quick rundown of the characters populating this version of Los Angeles as we enter the early days of the apocalypse.

Premiering Sunday, August 23, "Fear the Walking Dead" was co-created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson. The series stars Dickens, Dillane, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Mercedes Mason, Ruben Blades and more.
