Watch Dave Bautista and Jean-Claude Van Damme in 'Kickboxer: Vengeance' Trailer

The Muscles From Brussels returns to form -- and to one of his cult classics-- in this first trailer for "Kickboxer: Vengeance," a remake of his 1989 martial-arts film.

This time Jean-Claude Van Damme assumes the role of the teacher, Master Durand, who's sought out by revenge-seeking mixed martial artist named Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi) after his brother is killed in a match against Muay Thai champion Tong Po ("Guardians of the Galaxy's" Dave Bautista). Alas, there's no indication from the trailer whether Van Damme recreates the dance scene from the original film.

Directed by John Stockwell ("Blue Crush"), the film also features Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre, Sara Malakul Lane, Darren Shahlavi and Matthew Ziff.

"Kickboxer: Vengeance" opens Sept. 2.
