Inspired by Chris Pratt‘s Omaze campaign to fund a new teen center in his hometown of Lake Stevens, Washington, the kids at the local Boys & Girls Club built their own spaceship. However, as they prepared to launch the cardboard vessel, their transmission was intercepted by Star-Lord himself aboard the Milano (aka the set of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”).
As you can see in the video below, their reaction was priceless.
Pratt the need for a teen center in Lake Stevens, where the population has more than tripled since he graduated from high school in 1998. “There’s not as much to do,” he explains. “Y’know, there’s kids getting in trouble. The community center is where I went to stay out of trouble, and I love the idea of using the influence I have to create a space to have good, clean, healthy fun.”
Everyone who contributes $10 or more to Pratt’s Omaze campaign will be entered for a chance to win lunch with the actor, which includes a flight to Atlanta, a stay in a four-star hotel, and a tour of the set of “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.” The full list of perks can be found at Omaze.com.
