All of the previous Blu-ray collections of “Game of Thrones” have included hours of additional content and behind-the-scenes documentaries, and Season Five will be no different. The upcoming collection will include a new animated feature, "The Dance of Dragons," that delves into the complicated history of Westeros.

Designed and produced by Adam Vadnais of Lineman & Associates and written by Dave Hill, one of the writers of HBO's “Game of Thrones,” the short film unveils the events of the revolutionary Targaryen civil war. IGN debuted a first look at the 20-minute feature that showcases an intense battle between Price Aemond and his uncle Prince Daemon, as well as their dragons Vhagar and Caraxes.

In the novels and television show, The Dance of Dragons was a war sparked by the death of Viserys I. The winner of the war would inherit control over the Iron Throne, the chair made of swords that seats the King of Westeros. The details of the war were first revealed in George R.R. Martin’s novella “The Princess and the Queen,” with more details to be revealed in “Fire and Blood,” an upcoming book including the full history of House Targaryen.

The Emmy Award-winning “Game of Thrones: Season Five” will be released on Blu-Ray March 15, 2016.
