Call of Duty has dropped an official announcement trailer for its newest crossover event, "80s Action Heroes." The trailer highlights Die Hard's Nakatomi Plaza as a new explorable location, as well as Rambo himself, who will be available as a Legendary Operator.

The event, which begins May 19, will be a part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone's third season. The trailer shows off content from the event, which has been teased throughout May. It will feature content from both the 1988 film Die Hard as well as 1982's Rambo: First Blood.

The trailer focuses specifically on the new limited-time location Nakatomi Plaza, which will replace Broadcast Tower on Verdansk and Rambo, who serves as a new Legendary Operator. The trailer features gameplay footage of players fighting in the infamous Die Hard plaza, recreated from base to roof, in set-piece battles based on the film. It also demonstrates Rambo's unique in-game animations and voice lines.

Nakatomi Plaza will feature several optional missions for players to complete within a match, with an end goal of cracking open the vault at the top of the building. Doing so will reward players with a large sum of money if they can successfully escape. Some of the thematic missions include diffusing C4 on the roof and stopping an illegal arms deal.

Not featured in the trailer is John McClane, who will also be added as a Legendary Operator. McClane and Nakatomi plaza will be available at the start of the event on May 19, with Rambo being added in week 2. Both Operators will be available for purchase as in-store bundles. Each bundle will include Legendary Weapon Blueprints, a Finishing Move, Legendary Calling Card, Emblem, Epic Watch, Charm and respective Legendary Operator. Campsites around Verdansk will also be converted to Survival Camps in homage to Rambo: First Blood Part 2. No official price for the bundles has been confirmed yet.

The event will also feature new updates and content coming to both Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. A new outpost will offer a store for items, including weapons from the movies and a variety of other helpful goods. A new limited-time game mode, Power Grab, has also been added. 100 Operators will be dropped into Verdansk with a smaller starting circle that’s limited to five stages. Players can collect the dog tags of fallen enemies to unlock rewards and respawn players. Once you die, you’re out of the game as the Gulag has been removed for this mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision, is available on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Call of Duty: Warzone, developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software and published by Activision is a free-to-play battle royale game originally functioning as a spinoff of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It can be found in the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store.
