Between loads of photos both official and unofficial, constant teases for the follow-up "Justice League" film and the worst kept Aquaman secret cameo ever, it might seem as though there are no new big details left to be revealed from Warner Bros. incoming DC Comics tentpoll "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." But ahead of this week's Licensing Expo in Vegas, where the film is expected to make a big splash, the studio has released the first official synopsis for Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" sequel:
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
That "new threat's" connection to Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor is up to fans to decide for now, but more info may arrive across this week.
Opening March 26, 2016, "Batman v Superman" stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Scoot McNairy, Jason Momoa, and Holly Hunter.
