Warner Bros. dropped the first trailer for MultiVersus, its first free-to-play crossover platform fighting game.

The trailer, narrated by game director Tony Huynh, shows snippets of gameplay in between explainers for MultiVersus' many features. The game, which will play similarly to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, stars a vast roster of characters pulled from Warner Bros.' catalog of intellectual properties. The current line-up of fighters includes Shaggy (Scooby-Doo), Steven Universe (Steven Universe), Garnet (Steven Universe), Harley Quinn, Arya Stark (Game of Thrones), Finn (Adventure Time), Wonder Woman, Jake (Adventure Time), Superman, Batman, Tom & Jerry (Tom & Jerry) and an original fantasy creature named Reindog.

MultiVersus will feature matches that place a strong focus on online cooperative gameplay. Every fighter comes equipped with a unique set of abilities, emphasizing different team compositions for 2v2 battles. Combatants will boast customizable movesets that synergize with teammates. "From Wonder Woman and her Lasso of Truth attack being unexpectedly paired with Shaggy and his sandwich projectile, to Arya Stark’s face-swapping ability being used to complement Superman’s laser vision, the impossible can become possible through surprising team combinations and matchups," reads the official description provided by Warner Bros. The game will also launch with 1v1 clashes and a four-player free-for-all mode.

Developer Player First Games confirmed that it will be gradually expanding on MultiVersus over time, introducing new characters, skins, stages and game modes in future updates.
