For a game that hasn't been officially released to the public yet, a great deal of information about Gotham Knights has leaked to the public, especially from gamers who somehow got their preorders early. Gotham Knights is a role-playing game set in Gotham City after the death of Batman leaves Gotham without protection. Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood have teamed up to protect the city Batman once called home and to which he eventually gave his life.

Many franchises like to include callbacks, commonly referred to as Easter eggs, hidden within their games in some subtle (or not so subtle) locations around the map. Warner Bros. is no different and has included many Easter eggs within Gotham Knights. More are sure to be uncovered later on, but for now, here are the five best Easter eggs from Gotham Knights to date.

The Big Brute's Shield in Gotham Knights Is Harley Quinn's Handiwork

Gotham Knights Freaks Harley Reference

Warner Bros. has already confirmed that Harley Quinn plays a part in Gotham Knights, and this Easter egg is a testament to that fact. Written on the shield of one of the Freaks is a red, spray-painted "Harley was here," along with the Batman symbol with a line through it and Harley Quinn's signature diamond pattern in the bottom corner. While we don't yet know the exact part she will play, we know she is one of the bigger boss fights for players and a major villain in the game.

Wonder Woman Merch Can Be Found in the Kitchen

Gotham Knights Wonder Woman Apron

Wonder Woman and Batman have crossed over in the past in the Justice League, so it makes sense to have another little crossover hidden in the new Gotham Knights game. Nestled away in the corner of the kitchen in the Belfry -- the headquarters of the Batman family in Gotham Knights -- is an apron hanging on the wall. The apron bears the symbol of Wonder Woman, which is a great Easter egg for fans to notice while playing the game.

Kirk Langstrom's Work with Bats Is Highlighted in Gotham Knights

Langstroms Lab Gotham Knights Bat Flight Cycle Poster

Next to a larger featured poster in Kirk Langstrom's lab is a small poster detailing a study of the flight cycle of a bat. For those that know the story behind Langstrom already, they know exactly what this alludes to. Dr. Kirk Langstrom works on a serum to enhance senses using material extracted from the glands of bats. The serum definitely worked to accomplish what he set out to do, but he got way more than he bargained for. Langstrom mutates and becomes Man-Bat, a bat/human hybrid that has acted as both ally and adversary to Batman.

The Court of Owls Leaves Its Mark in Gotham Knights

Gotham City Court of Owls Allusion Gotham Knightw

For any fan that's followed the Batman franchise for any length of time, it is immediately noticeable that the paintings in this room contain owls. The Court of Owls is a secret political faction only heard about in whispers and known through their crimes committed by their assassins, called Talons. The leaders are human and wear owl masks on their faces, but the rest of the Court are mutated human/owl hybrids. It will be interesting to see if there are more owl references throughout the game when it's released.

A Poster in Langstrom's Lab Alludes to Batman's Childhood Hero

The Gray Ghost Poster Gotham Knights

When searching inside Kirk Langstrom's lab, there is a poster on the wall of The Gray Ghost with a very interesting date. The poster says, "The Gray Ghost, Back in Select Theaters 4-11-92." Gray Ghost is the childhood hero of Batman from Batman: The Animated Series, specifically the episode entitled, "Beware the Gray Ghost." The figure is a television character that Bruce Wayne looked up to, and he was even assisted by the actor that played The Gray Ghost when there was a sudden outburst of crime reminiscent to a Gray Ghost episode. This is a great not-so-hidden Easter egg and tribute to the animated series as well as to Bruce Wayne himself.
