Superhero fans from across the globe will soon have the chance to hear some of their favorite DC Universe film scores performed live.
Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and TCG Entertainment have jointly announced DC in Concert, an all-new global touring film concert series featuring a symphony orchestra performing the iconic scores live as the films are projected on larger-than-life screens. "DC films are global sensations, inspiring audiences and millions of fans around the world with captivating storytelling, characters, and music," said Peter van Roden, senior vice president of Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment. "The films in this series are some of the most recognizable from the DC Universe and we’re looking forward to taking the cinematic experience to the next level, giving fans a whole new way to experience the scope of their favorite DC movies with the iconic scores being performed live."
Stephen Cook, founder and president of TCG Entertainment, which is a leader in live entertainment properties and touring productions, shared Roden's excitement about the upcoming concert series. The series lineup for the upcoming fan experience will include Batman (1989), Justice League (2017) and The Batman (2022) as well as future DC installments Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Flash. The lineup mostly includes films set in the DC Extended Universe with the two Batman movies acting as outliers.
DC in Concert marks a return for DC films being viewed with a live symphony orchestra. Todd Phillips' 2019 film Joker previously embarked on a live concert tour across the U.K. and several other European countries in the summer of 2020 and again in Fall 2021. At each performance, a full orchestra performed Hildur Guðnadóttir's Golden Globe-winning and Academy Award-nominated score as the film played on screen.
Release markets and schedules for DC in Concert will be announced later this year.
