Warner Bros. and LEGO artist hit the bricks with DC Comics tour

Warner Bros. is partnering with renowned artist Nathan Sawaya for “The Art of the Brick: DC Comics,” a traveling exhibition of his LEGO interpretations of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and more.

Sawaya, who created the LEGO Oscar statuettes seen Sunday during the Academy Awards telecast, has been showcasing his work since 2007 in the “Art of the Brick” series of museum tours in North America, Europe and Australia. However, this will be the first time one of Sawaya’s shows has been devoted to a single theme.

He previously collaborated with Warner Bros. on DC-themed LEGO sculptures displayed at Comic-Con International, the Time Warner Center and other locations.

This is an amazing opportunity as an artist to be granted the privilege to bring the pages of DC Comics to life and to interpret some of the most famous and iconic characters in history,” Sawaya said in a statement. “I look forward to bringing these characters to life in new ways that uniquely fir the medium.”

Developed by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment, “The Art of the Brick: DC Comics” will launch a worldwide tour this fall.
