Teresa Palmer ("Warm Bodies") has signed on to star in New Line Cinema's horror film, "Lights Out," reports Deadline. Directed by first-time feature director David Sandberg, the film will be an expanded version of Sandberg's award-winning horror short by the same name, which garnered attention online after being posted to Vimeo.

Although he's set to direct "The Conjuring 2" and the "Aquaman" movie, James Wan will serve as producer on "Lights Out," having already produced horror films like "Annabelle," "Insidious: Chapter 3" and the "Saw" franchise.

Written by Eric Heisserer (2011's "The Thing"), "Lights Out" follows two young siblings who encounter an evil entity whenever they turn out the lights.

Last seen in "Kill Me Three Times" alongside Simon Pegg, Palmer will appear in Terrence Malick's "Knight of Cups" and the "Point Break" remake, both due out in December of this year.
