The premiere of “Lemon Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” is just days away, so Patrick Warburton's Lemony Snicket has taken it upon himself to get everyone up to speed with the tragic lives of the Baudelaire children.
Titled "Facts," the show's latest teaser stars Warburton as Lemony Snicket. The "author" spends the trailer breaking down the show's basic plot: Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire are orphaned after their house goes up in flames and their parents die under mysterious circumstances, after which they are then sent to live with the terrible Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) and a host of other zany relatives.
After discovering how insufferable the Count is, the children escape him and set out to find out how their parents died. Along the way, the children travel and live with various guardians, while continuously battling Olaf's efforts to ruin their lives.
The 8-episode first season will cover the first four books of the series, with every two episodes spanning the events of one book. Only time will tell if the show will get a second season, but the show's early reviews paint a good picture and should give fans a little something to look forward to this week.
Debuting Jan. 13 on Netflix, the series also stars Malina Weissman as Violet, Louis Hynes as Klaus, Bernadette Peters as Aunt Josephine, Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Aasif Mandvi as Uncle Monty, Catherine O’Hara as Dr. Georgina Orwell, K. Todd Freeman as Mr. Arthur Poe, Don Johnson as Sir and Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket.
