Raising a child is no easy task, but neither is protecting one from a rampaging Greek god of war. The heroic team in War of the Realms: Journey Into Mystery #5 has learned this lesson thanks to their ongoing conflict with Ares.
A preview for Journey Into Mystery #5 reveals that the team has started to hit back against their deific pursuer, with Wonder Man and Miles Morales leading the charge. Wonder Man is the first to leap into the fray, successfully rescuing Freyja and Odin’s daughter, Laussa. For a moment, at least.
Ares leaps out of his frustratingly fiery truck and brings the fight back to the ground, punching Wonder Man straight into the snowy roadside. Luckily, Miles Morales is there to take up the fight, as Wonder Man is still an avowed pacifist. One would think such a tussle might harm a baby, Asgardian or not, but it turns out Spider-Man was there all along, cloaked and riding on Wonder Man’s back.
How did he get Laussa from Wonder Man without alerting Ares, though? Movie magic, of course.
