'War Has Begun' in New Trailer For 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'

Fox has released the second full-length trailer for director Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, one that adds more nuance (and emotion) to the premise of a fragile peace between Caesar's apes and a group of human survivors -- and the forces that threaten to destroy it.

Opening July 11, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, Karin Konoval and Judy Greer.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
