From the first episode of WandaVision fans had theories of what was going on and who would be showing up. Some of the theories turned out to be true. Others crashed and burned pretty quickly. After the credits rolled on the last episode fans took to the internet to express their sadness that their favorite theories didn't come true.

While some of these theories would have been a lot of fun to see during the show, others seemed destined to fail right out of the gate. Promises of amazing cameos and some name drops had fans excited for who was going to appear only to be let down. From here beware that there are spoilers!

10 The Commercials Represent The Infinity Stones

Hydra Soak commercial

During the first handful of episodes, the sitcom format also included throwback commercials. Each one fit the time period the current episode represented and seemed to be full of easter eggs that had fans drooling over every detail. One theory suggested that each commercial represented an Infinity Stone.

The toaster oven in the first episode had a red glowing light that stood out amongst the black and white presentation. The next episode showed us a Strucker Watch which could be a stand-in for the time stone. Hydra Soak had a blue box that could be said looked like the Tesseract from the first Captain America movie. Ultimately it seems that none of this mattered.

9 The People In The Commercials Are Wanda And Pietro's Parents

WandaVision Commercial Hosts

When the commercial aired in the second episode fans were quick to point out that the two people in the ad were the same as the ones from the first episode. Any time a commercial aired one or both of the models would return. Fans began to speculate that these two were actually Wanda and Pietro's parents.

Could she be projecting the memories of her parents into the commercials? Turns out this was another dead end. While a proper explanation was never given it is assumed these were more residents of Westview that were forced into their roles on the WandaVision sitcom.

8 Who Is Jimmy Woo's WITSEC Informant?

Randall Park as Jimmy Woo in WandaVision

In the fourth episode, Jimmy Woo from the Ant-Man And The Wasp movie returns. He tells Monica that he had an informant in WITSEC that was in Westview that had gone silent. After showing up to check on him it was found that the town was surrounded by an energy field that restricted their entrance.

Who would his informant turn out to be? Surely it had to be an important character. Whether it was someone that had already been introduced into the MCU or a new character that fans had been holding their breath to see on screen. Turns out after this episode his informant became a non-issue.

7 Hexagons Everywhere Hint That AIM Is Behind This

Wanda and Vision

In the comics, the A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) logo is a hexagon. If fans pay attention throughout the WandaVision series there are hexagons everywhere. Didn't seem to be a big deal until the end of the second episode when a man in a beekeeper's uniform emerges out of the sewer. Fans began to get excited as in the comics the A.I.M. henchmen wear suits that are often called beekeeper suits.

This seemed interesting as the last time we saw A.I.M. was in Iron Man 3. In the end, it appears the hexagons seemed to more represent Wanda's Hex powers. Fans began to wonder if A.I.M. was involved would there be a live-action take on M.O.D.O.K. was far behind. For now, they will have to wait.

6 Is Monica's Engineer Reed Richards?

Mister Fantastic stretching

While trying to figure out how to get back through the Westview barrier Monica says she is calling in a favor from a friend who is an engineer. Immediately fans began to point to that this would obviously be an introduction for the head of the Fantastic Four family Reed Richards. With the powers that be trying to figure out how to bring Marvel's First Family into the MCU for sure, this would be the way to do it.

Nope. Just another no-name character. Even after the reveal fans thought that it was a misdirect and that the real mind behind the tech Monica was using to reenter Westview would be revealed the next episode. Alas, it was not to be and the Fantastic Four will have to debut another time.

5 Both Pietros Will Appear

MCU Quicksilver Fox Quicksilver

With the reality-bending aspects of this series, there was talk that not one but BOTH of the Quicksilvers would make an appearance. Turns out this rumor was half true but not in the way most expected. Only one of the Pietros showed up but it ended up being the one from the FOX X-Men Universe.

It's revealed that this is not even really true in itself. Evan Peters was hired to play who Wanda thinks is her brother but ends up just being a resident of Westview who was used by Agnes to get into Wanda's family to eavesdrop. It ended up being a long-form Bohner joke.

4 WandaVision Will Introduce The X-Men Into The MCU

With Evan Peters showing up as Pietro (Bohner) fans were sure this would lead to the FOX X-Men Universe merging with the MCU proper. It seemed Wanda would use her reality-bending powers to bring the two universes together. Mutants would finally make their debut!

While this sort of happened through a retcon of Wanda's origin making her the first known mutant in the MCU, the X-Men still seems to reside in their own universe. Wolverine won't be mixing it up with Hulk anytime soon sadly.

3 Magneto Is Wanda And Pietro's Father

WandaVision Scarlet Witch with Magneto

So with no X-Men being merged into the MCU that also means that Magneto was also not revealed to be Wanda and Pietro's father (for now). It was thought that since the show would be digging deeper into Wanda's past that there would finally be a reveal that Magneto fathered her and her brother. That was played up in the FOX X-Men universe and with Evan Peters crossing that border it seemed that the mutant leader was on his way.

Instead, it was shown that their parents were two regular people who were trying to scrape by in Sokovia while avoiding the ongoing violence that had overtaken the country. They try to help their children keep their minds occupied by watching old American sitcoms to help them learn English. No mutant powers were hinted at and no Magneto.

2 Mephisto Is Behind The Creation Of Wanda's Children

This one seemed to have some credence behind it as in the comics it was revealed that Wanda's children were actually pieces of Mephisto's soul. With Agatha (All Along) wanting to grab as much power from Wanda as she can it could have been that she turned to Mephisto to help Wanda grow her family. This would give him a way into the Earth realm and also gain him more power.

While it didn't end up happening in this series it is hinted at in the post-credit scene of the last episode that this could still be the case. While astral projecting to learn as much as she can from the Darkhold a cry from her sons is heard and she seems determined to find out where it's coming from and save them.

1 Doctor Strange Comes In To Save The Day

WandaVision leads into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

This theory came about as Wanda has been announced to be in the upcoming Spider-Man movie along with Doctor Strange. After that, she will also be in Doctor Strange 2: Multiverse Of Madness. Along with the comment that a cameo on the level of Luke Skywalker showing up in Mandalorian from some of the cast made fans think that the good doctor would arrive to help free Westview from Wanda's control.

It would make sense since the title of the next Doctor Strange movie suggests that new realities will be opened. With Evan Peters showing up as Pietro (Bohner) it seemed like it was a distinct possibility that the problems with the multiverse could start here and stretch through Doctor Strange 2. Turns out none of that is true and fans will have to get their multiverse fix in 2022.
