WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episode 5, "On a Very Special Episode...," now streaming on Disney+.

Darcy Lewis and Jimmy Woo have quickly become fan favorites as they work together to unravel the mystery of Wanda's sitcom life in WandaVision. But have they been around all this time, or are they newly returned to life after disappearing in the Blip?

Ever since Thanos destroyed half of all life in Avengers: Infinity War only for those lives to be restored five years later in Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dealing with the fallout from this monumental change to its mythos. While the fates of most major characters were shown onscreen or otherwise revealed to the audience, some have been left a mystery. Two of these were Darcy, played by Kat Dennings, and Jimmy, played by Randall Park, both of whom have returned to their roles to star in WandaVision, and in a Yahoo! Entertainment interview, they shared their own thoughts on what happened offscreen.

Interviewer Kevin Polowy asked both actors about whether they thought their characters survived. "I did ask around about that," said Park, "and I got various theories. My theory is that he wasn't [destroyed in the Blip], but, you know, I'm not for sure." He added a compelling piece of evidence for anyone who followed Jimmy's arc from Ant-Man and the Wasp, in which he's intrigued by Scott Lang's skill at "close-up magic," to his debut on WandaVision, which showed that he has now mastered it himself: "He had to learn those card tricks, right? He needed that time."

Dennings also believes that her character survived the Blip. "I asked, and we decided that Darcy was not Blipped," she said. She then revealed her personal hope for Darcy's future MCU appearances, which may echo something that her fans have also hoped for: "So all I want in this life is to do a flashback of Darcy not being Blipped. That's like my dearest wish. So maybe one day..."

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
