WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Marvel's WandaVision Episode 3, "Now in Color," now streaming on Disney+.
The first three episodes of WandaVision have plunged Wanda Maximoff and Vision into some sort of alternate reality where they are trapped in various eras of sitcom television. While the exact cause of these events remains to be seen, it's widely assumed that this is a creation of the Scarlet Witch, who has brought the android she loves back to life following his death in Avengers: Infinity War.
In this new idyllic life, Wanda has made plenty of alterations, but some things are still the same: Vision is still an android with special abilities. In fact, he's proven that he's still indestructible, can phase through solid objects and has the ability to fly. And, in the third episode of WandaVision, the android also shows that he has the ability to run at super-speed, something he didn't have in his movie appearances.
In the second episode of WandaVision, Vision briefly runs at super-speed, but it was over a short distance and for a brief instant, which made it easy to dismiss as a simple byproduct of his natural abilities. But in the series' latest episode, "Now in Color," he runs to the doctor's house at super-speed, before bringing him back to his house in a flash. The use of this power in the episode is unmistakable, and it's especially noteworthy because Vision has never used super-speed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before.
What makes this even more curious is that super-speed is an ability that is more closely associated with Wanda's brother, Pietro Maximoff. Like Wanda, Pietro got his abilities thanks to von Strucker's experiments with the Mind Stone, and although he helped the Avengers fight Ultron, he was killed by the villain. Pietro is another important part of Wanda's life that was taken from her, but he is not a part of her television reality. While he isn't there in person, it's possible she gave Vision her brother's powers as a way to honor him.
What's more, the reason Vision may have super-speed in the television series could be paid off further down the line. Wanda and Vision are now parents to twin boys -- characters who have abilities of their own in the comics. Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, has magical powers, while Tommy Shepherd, aka Speed, has super-speed abilities. If WandaVision follows the same path, this would mean that each twin would have part of the powers of one of their parents.
In any case, Vision's super-speed abilities don't appear to be an accident. It's more likely this is just another instance of Marvel Studios leaving a breadcrumb that is part of the mystery that is WandaVision.
