After much anticipation, Disney+ has finally released the first trailer for its first series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, WandaVision. The trailer dropped viewers in the middle of a mysterious reality seemingly controlled by Wanda Maximoff, where she and the Avengers' resident android, Vision, live an idealistic life lifted from several classic sitcoms. The couple's MCU return starts off in black and white, but rapidly, it becomes clear that not all is as it seems.

The trailer instills plenty of mysteries, and it doesn't offer much in the way of answers. However, one clear thing it does debut is something comic book fans will instantly recognize: Vision's classic costume.

In February, Disney released a brief first look at WandaVision that showed Scarlet Witch would be donning her classic comic book costume in television series -- complete with her red dress, cape and signature headband. Given that this is a look that wouldn't exactly be right at home in the grounded and more tactical world of the MCU, WandaVision found a way to offer a nod to the classic look by having Wanda wear it as a Halloween costume -- and it looks like she won't be dressing up alone.

In fact, in the WandaVision trailer, a shot of Vision walking the streets of the couple's neighborhood on the night of Halloween. Several children are walking the sidewalks in their own costumes, and Vision himself is seen in the middle of a street wearing a festive and colorful costume. It's clearly meant to be a crude and unrefined take on his classic comic book look, which dates all the way back to his original appearances in the Marvel Universe starting in 1968.

Vision and the Scarlet Witch

He's got the green suit and the yellow cape, the high collar reminiscent of Doctor Strange's own Cloak of Levitation, the diamond logo on his chest and even the gem on his forehead that is different to the yellow Mind Stone he usually sports in the MCU.

With Scarlet Witch's own classic comic book look, this is undoubtedly another fun nod for fans. Better yet, it likely indicates that the two characters will share at least one scene wearing these costumes together, which means the television series should at least feature one shot of the Scarlet With and the Vision in their classic suits. Don't expect either character to wear these costumes for very long, but it does show that the MCU, even on the small screen, will continue to honor the comic book universe that serves as its source material.

WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn. The limited series will debut on Disney+, with an expected premiere for late 2020.
