WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episodes 1 and 2, now streaming on Disney+.

WandaVision has arrived, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 4 is actively underway. The first two episodes premiered on Disney+ on Jan. 15 and featured a classic callback to sitcoms from the past.

In a fun addition, each episode also includes a period-specific commercial in the middle. Both of the commercials in these premiere episodes include Easter eggs to the MCU, one concerning a toaster created by Stark Industries and the second a watch called the Strucker. However, the toaster features multiple Easter eggs.

The toaster comes from the critically acclaimed 2015 series Vision by Tom King, Gabriel Hernandez Walta, Jordie Bellaire & VC's Clayton Cowles. This is the series in which Vision created his own synthezoid family, including wife Virginia and children, Viv and Vin. After a series of mishaps, the Avengers send in a spy, Vision's brother Victor Mancha, to watch over the family. The entire 12-issue run is a deep look into how far Vision would go to create and keep his family and is an ideal read before delving too far into the new WandaVision series.

As for the WandaVision Easter egg, the commercial in the first episode advertises a toaster to help any housewife struggling not to burn her toast at breakfast. Stark Industries created a groundbreaking toaster that is timed to create the perfectly browned slice of bread for any breakfast. It is a humorous wink to Tony Stark and the MCU. It is also a reference to a joke from King and Walta's Vision series.

Vision #7 starts the second story arc, "Little Better Than a Beast," where Vision's entire idea of a happily-ever-after family is destroyed. This specific issue started with a flashback from Vision's past when he was married to the Scarlet Witch. The two were in bed together, and Vision wanted to relay a joke that The Wasp had told him. In the joke, two toasters were sitting on a counter, and one turns to the other and asks, "Do you sometimes feel empty?" That is when the second toaster says, "Oh my God! A talking toaster!" Wanda starts laughing, and the two share a happy moment in bed.

When they were with the Avengers, batting Count Nefaria, the couple was standing and talking behind a tree. Vision told Scarlet Witch he loved her, and she blushed before saying, "I love you too, you talking toaster." This eventually led to the marriage of Wanda and Vision, which lasted until they had children. When Vision told Wanda their children were not real, she lashed out at him, calling him "a damn toaster" in anger. They eventually made up, and Wanda made a flash drive with her memories in it so Vision could use it to create a new love for himself one day. When she gave this to him, the two reshared the joke Wasp told Vision and laughed together again.

He repeated the joke to his synthezoid wife Virginia in the present day. However, Vision realized it was not the same when he received no response at all. It showed Vision the difference between his love for Wanda Maximoff and the wife he built to create a new family. Wanda Maximoff brought humanity and happiness to Vision that he never could replicate. WandaVision is telling the love story of Wanda and Vision, and this Easter egg could speak volumes about what that love could look like in the end.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
