Since its premiere, WandaVision has stirred up speculations over what characters will be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While many are crossing their fingers for the Fantastic Four, others are convinced that the X-Men will debut in this series. With the return of Evan Peters as Quicksilver, many fans wonder if Wanda will be the one to usher in mutants to the MCU on a large scale.

Many are behind this idea, but Reddit user mawkword posits that Wanda bringing mutants into the world would undermine the purpose of their existence. Since their introduction in the early '60s, mutants have been the poster children for the oppressed and hated in the Marvel Universe. Because of their powers, they are deemed homosuperior, which terrifies average humans who see themselves at risk of becoming obsolete. This has always been why mutants are hated more than other heroes.

Ever since Ultron was created, the threat of escalation was always on the MCU's most intelligent characters' minds. Even Vision made a note of it when he warned of the consequences that could come from their existence in Civil War. The theory suggests that the only way mutants should be included in the MCU is through natural evolution, just like in the comics. If Wanda were to bring mutants into the world at once, it would be harder for people to fear what they don't understand when they would essentially be no different than other enhanced beings.

The natural addition of mutants as a response to the influx of super-powered beings would not only make sense, but it would also add to the idea that people are adapting to measure up to the threats that lie ahead. This would also fuel the fears of mutants, as some normal parents may now carry the gene that brings them into the world. There is a degree of uncertainty that would be lost if Wanda introduces mutants with her powers.

The theory also suggests that Pietro isn't a part of the Fox X-Men series. This is due to the realization that, if Wanda were to bring that universe of heroes into the MCU through the multiverse, it would inadvertently ruin those characters. Bringing the X-Men in from another universe would make them refugees in a world that have never heard of a mutant. Here, they'd be hated and feared, but they wouldn't even have a home or anyone to turn to.

While mutants haven't officially been brought into the series, it is important to mention that Wanda and Vision's kids are the first characters to be born with abilities. Since there is no word for mutants and their fate is still unknown, it's hard to say if this will stick. However, for now, it looks like there are at least two kids who have the potential to introduce the idea of natural superpowers to the viewer quietly.

The X-Men have a rich history that deserves to be handled with care and attention. There are many fans who want them to appear in WandaVision, but waiting a little bit longer may be for the best. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that they are given enough time to arrive naturally and are given the treatment they deserve when they do.
