WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episode 5, "On a Very Special Episode...," now streaming on Disney+.

With the plot of WandaVision rapidly developing now that viewers have broader context, the government agency S.W.O.R.D. keeps testing their limits when it comes to infiltrating the "hex" bubble maintained around Westview. Though they made some progress, it appears that Monica Rambeau knows someone more prepared to handle the situation. In fact, that contact may be the closest thing to an expert the Marvel has, as the identity of the mysterious figure could very well be Reed Richards.

Better known as Mr. Fantastic, the leader of the Fantastic Four, Reed Richards and his compatriots have yet to make their MCU debut, but a movie is currently in the works at Marvel Studios. However, with WandaVision in full swing and Monica building up a mystery contact, the team could make their debut sooner rather than later.

Since she was expelled from the hex, Monica has been hard at work trying to resolve its mysteries and help Wanda amidst her crisis. Though Monica herself made some developments by discovering that Wanda rearranged matter to fit her reality, allowing S.W.O.R.D. to fly in a drone from an era that insulated it from anachronism, she also said that she knew an aerospace engineer who would be perfect for the task at hand. While the audience didn't get to see who she contacted, Reed could be that aerospace engineer.

The Fantastic Four's origins are firmly rooted in the space race, so much so that they first developed their powers while riding an experimental rocket ship Reed build in order to beat the Soviets. Over time, Reed's genius would only expand to further fields before it became firmly established he was the Marvel universe's foremost expert on everything. Yet at the same time, he would always maintain those roots as an astronaut and an engineer, and it's for that reason he fits so perfectly here.

One invention of Reed's would be particularly apt for S.W.O.R.D.'s current crisis, as his development of unstable molecules already connects perfectly to Monica's discovery. Firing bullets at the clothes recovered from her trip within the hex and discovering that her Kevlar vest was refashioned into a chic sitcom style, the material bears a striking resemblance to the almost magical unstable molecules Reed invented for the Fantastic Four's costumes. Capable of lighting aflame, stretching to any extent and rearranging into whatever shape they needed, this would be a seamless way to introduce them to the MCU.

Wearing such unstable molecules could even allow agents to enter the hex without fear of Wanda reshaping their matter, and if anyone can figure out a way to protect individuals from Wanda's influence, it would be a genius like Reed. Since the space race is long since, meaning the Fantastic Four's origins are in need of a reboot, four explorers entering a bubble where anything could happen might be the exact situation Kevin Feige and Co. need to finally debut Marvel's First Family.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes.
