The cast and crew of WandaVison teased that the upcoming Marvel Studios/Disney+ series will feature more visual effects than 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

"I think it will make everybody look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a whole new way," Paul Bettany, who portrays Vision, recently told Total Film via Games Radar. "Marvel has always taken big swings... But we're a really big swing." He added, "There are more VFX shots in WandaVision than we had in Endgame. That’s a big ask."

Meanwhile, WandaVision director Matt Shakman joked, "Law & Order this is not."

"This was not six months of shooting people walking down the same hallway," he continued. Marvel Studios head Kevin "Feige was really clear from the beginning that this show would be very different but it would also be as Marvel as anything else they’d ever made -- including some of the biggest set pieces they've ever done."

Hints about the scope of WandaVision came shortly after Shakman also recently shared that he wanted the MCU series to capture the trauma of Elizabeth Olsen's character, Wanda Maximoff. "Wanda is probably the person who has suffered the most of anyone in the MCU... And so the show is always grounded in that," Shakman said. "Even though what you see are faithfully recreated television shows, there's a lot more going on than meets the eye."

Inspired by the sitcom world of the '50s and '60s, WandaVision will tie in directly to the events of Avengers: Endgame, the final film in the Avengers series. It will also incorporate elements that will set up the yet-untitled Spider-Man 3 from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. According to the show's official synopsis,

Marvel Studios presents WandaVision, a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) – two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer.

WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The series premieres Jan. 15 on Disney+.
