In its last few episodes, WandaVision has expanded Wanda Maximoff's abilities in countless ways. Now officially earning her title of the "Scarlet Witch," more doors into the supernatural have opened for her. However, apart from her role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there is little known about the potential directions the character could go in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One possibility for Wanda would be to receive a spin-off series that followers her adventures through the supernatural as she learns more about her powers. The project could be inspired by the comic run Scarlet Witch by James Robinson, Vanesa del Rey, Marco Rudy, Steve Dillon and Chris Visions, with each episode taking the titular character on an adventure in the supernatural world of the MCU.

WandaVision Episode 8

Depending on how WandaVision concludes, it's unlikely Wanda would be able to travel alone on her journeys through the mystical. If the spin-off wants to follow the comic, Wanda could be accompanied by Agatha Harkness, who would serve as her mentor. Agatha taught Wanda how to harness her abilities through magic in her earliest appearances, and the show could use this opportunity to delve deeper into the witch's past and the dark choices she made to remain immortal.

In the source material, Wanda's life was always filled with tragedy, and her biggest heartache came from the realization that her children were never real. Should WandaVision see the same fate for the twins, then both Doctor Strange 2 and a potential solo series could also focus on her hunt to find her children, or at least their souls.

Scarlet Witch

In the hunt for her kids, any magic-user in the MCU could end up on a collision course with Wanda, including characters like the Emerald Warlock and Chthon. However, one particular foe that could have a role would be Mephisto, who has been part of his fair share of WandaVision fan theories. In the comics, he was the one who kept Billy and Tommy's souls, and while it's hard to pinpoint villains that could stand against the Scarlet Witch in the MCU, the universe's version of the devil is certainly an option.

A Scarlet Witch solo series following the Doctor Strange sequel would be the perfect way to continue the supernatural theme that has kickstarted Phase 4 of the MCU. At that point in her journey, Wanda will likely have gained immense power and changed almost entirely, which would open her character up to further exploration.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
