WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episodes 1 & 2, now streaming on Disney+.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most surreal project yet, WandaVision's first two episodes have thrown in a slew of Easter eggs from the comics. One of them comes with a magical plotline in Episode 2, which name-drops two characters who play a vital role in the Vision and the Scarlet Witch comics.

In the series' second episode, Wanda and Vision perform a magic act as part of the town's annual talent show fundraiser. Their intention behind participating is to ingratiate themselves to the Westview community, hopeful they can keep their true identities under the radar. As such, despite Wanda's extraordinary powers, the couple elects to use more practical set of magic tricks, including the grand finale in the "Cabinet of Mystery."

In true magic fashion, Wanda and Vision have adopted stage names for the talent show. He dubs himself "Illusion," while she is "Glamor." And while these titles are clear synonyms for magic and spectacle, they also make reference to two characters of the same names from Vision and the Scarlet Witch, a comic series which, similar to WandaVision, had the titular characters moving into a tiny town to avoid detection.

Ilya and Glynis Zarkov are a married couple who first appeared in Vision and the Scarlet Witch Vol 2 #4 in 1986. They worked as magicians at the Magic Mansion in New York City. Like Wanda and Vision, they also used the stage names Illusion and Glamor. Also like them, their stage-based ruses covered up a set of powers they actually housed. True to his stage name, Ilya could create illusions by manipulating the matter around him. Glynis AKA Glamor controlled the density of her molecules, allowing for her to change her way instantaneously and even phase through walls.

In the comics, the Zarkovs live in the small town of Leonia, New Jersey, right outside the city. It happens to be the same neighborhood that Wanda and Vision move into as well. The two faced persecution upon arriving in Leonia, to the point where their house was burned down. Ilya and Glynis ally themselves with their new neighbors, realizing that they could easily face the same hatred for being supernatural. The two couples served as friends throughout the run of Vision and the Scarlet Witch.

Wanda and Vision co-opting the Zarkovs' stage names most likely means Illusion and Glamor proper will not appear on WandaVision. But this Easter egg is a great shout out to the comics that partially inspired the Disney+ series, as well as a reminder of the friends and enemies the titular characters need to make as they strive to settle into suburbia and come across as "normal" people.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
