Marvel Studios' upcoming television show WandaVision has long promised to be an unusual affair. Actor Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, has revealed one of its most unique qualities related to how the show's debut episode was filmed.

"They did some very clever things," Bettany said to Collider. "Like we shot the first episode in two days, in front of a live studio audience." This trait serves as a homage to classic multi-camera sitcoms, which are traditionally filmed in front of an audience.

"I think it's going to make you think about the MCU in a whole brand new way but I do think that it's absolutely a part of that universe," Bettany observed. "As each episode unfolds, the audience will be able to peel back layer upon layer until this rather beautiful puzzle box written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman and shot by [cinematographer] Jess Hall will be revealed to everybody and it will make sense. All of the bonkers stuff will be about something."

The series sees the return of Elizabeth Olsen and Bettany as Scarlet Witch and Vision, the former of which returned from apparent death in Avengers: Endgame. Vision met his end at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, after having the Mind Stone torn from his head. The series will be followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and will lead into 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The series premieres Jan. 15, 2021 on Disney+.
