A photo from the Disney+ original WandaVision shows how the series embraces certain aspects of classic sitcoms.

The Entertainment Weekly image shows Wanda Maximoff and Vision sleeping in separate beds, a trope seen in shows like I Love Lucy and The Dick Van Dyke Show. Between the 1930s and 1960s, the Motion Picture Production Code did not allow couples to be seen sleeping in the same bed together. As a result, bedroom scenes at the time involved twin beds.

WandaVision will follow Wanda Maximoff and Vision after the events of Avengers: Endgame. It will be the only Marvel property released this year and will kick off Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Filming began in 2019, but was halted in March 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Production was able to resume in July.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The limited series debuts on Disney+ Dec. 2020.
