WandaVision's Teyonah Parris explained what the show will explore in regards to Monica Rambeau.

"[WandaVision] picks up right after the events of [Avengers:] Endgame, and for Monica, it’s obviously years later from when we saw her as a girl in Captain Marvel," Parris told TVLine. Eventually, fans "find out what’s been happening with her over those years that we missed, how she’s grown and evolved."

Rambeau first appeared in Captain Marvel, portrayed by Akira Akbar. WandaVision is the first time Parris is portraying the character, though it will not be her last, as she'll reprise the role in Captain Marvel 2.

Monica Rambeau serves as one of a number of ways WandaVision will connect to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. When the show was first announced, it was noted that WandaVision would lead directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will feature Elizabeth Olsen reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
