Starting with Episode 7, WandaVision creators began including some revelatory post-credit scenes that hint at future events. Though the stingers themselves have raised many questions, they also serve to foreshadow and link events within the MCU. More than a few viewers were likely left scratching their heads at some of the scenes, especially those less familiar with the deeper lore of Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Marvel as a whole.

10 The Use of Mid-Credit Scenes Is Connected To The Era Of The Episode

At the beginning of the series, many fans were surprised that post-credit scenes were completely absent, as they are typically expected from an MCU production. The potential reasoning behind the exclusion was evidently intentional and has an interesting backstory.

The first episode to include a post-credit scene, Episode 7, is set during the early to mid-2000s, based on the references to Malcolm in The Middle and the "mockumentary" style filming of shows like The Office and Modern Family. The choice to include a stinger in the episode correlates to the decade Marvel movies started implementing post-credit scenes in their theatrical releases.

9 White Vision Was First Introduced In 1989's The West Coast Avengers

At the end of Episode 8, audiences were introduced to an alternate "White" Vision, created by S.W.O.R.D. director and all-around jerk, Tyler Hayward. Though White Vision's inclusion appears to be somewhat random at first, the character was originally introduced more than thirty years ago in The West Coast Avengers.

In the aptly named "Vision Quest" story arc, the original Vision was kidnapped in an attempt to copy his technology. After the Avengers eventually came to Visions rescue, however, the damage had already been done, and they were unable to repair his synthezoid exterior, resulting in his white appearance.

8 The Significance of Monica Rambeau's Mother In The MCU

Monica's mother, Maria Rambeau, is referenced several times throughout WandaVision. After her appearance in Captain Marvel, audiences were left wondering, "what is her overall significance in the MCU?" In the WandaVision season finale mid-credit scene, audiences learn that a Skrull was sent to recruit Monica by "an old friend of [her] mother's."

We know from Captain Marvel that Maria Rambeau was instrumental in helping Skrull refugees alongside Nick Fury, which the scene is undoubtedly referencing. As the original founder of S.W.O.R.D. Maria most likely intended her daughter to replace her as the new Director, thus setting up her role for future MCU films.

As the mid-credit scene begins, Monica is approached by an FBI agent, who turns out to be a Skrull in disguise. Interestingly, this revelation is also a nod to the post-credit scene at the end of Marvel's Spider-Man Far From Home.

In the scene, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are revealed to be two Skrull agents, Taos and Soren. Fans of Captain Marvel will recognize the pair as refugees who escaped the tyrannical and militaristic Kree. Not only does WandaVision's post-credit scene set up Monica's continued relationship with the Skrull, but it directly parallels the scene from Far From Home as well.

6 The Skrull Sent By "An Old Friend"

In the mid-credit scene, Monica asks, "where?" after being informed that an old friend of her mothers would like to meet with her. The undercover Skrull agent responds by mysteriously pointing up, most likely indicating that Nick Fury himself sent the messenger.

At the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, audiences learned that Nick Fury was orchestrating events from a space station high above the Earth, although the details around his location are somewhat vague. However, his desire to meet with Monica could indicate his knowledge of her newly acquired powers, and her ongoing role in Captain Marvel 2.

5 Monica Rambeau's Role In Captain Marvel 2

WandaVision fans who are newer to the MCU or unfamiliar with the previous movies may be unaware that Monica Rambeau's character was already established in Captain Marvel. The film, which is set in 1995, introduced a nine-year-old Monica Rambeau, who befriends Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel).

Her continued role in WandaVision and her newly acquired superpowers no doubt indicates that she will play a significant role in the sequel, Captain Marvel 2. Her previous experience and knowledge of the Skrull might also establish her as a key figure on Nick Fury's team in the movie.

4 Scarlet Witch's Connection To Doctor Strange

Throughout WandaVision, there are several indications that the titular Wanda (as Scarlet Witch) will play a role in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel film. For example, Agatha mentions, "your power exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme," referring to Doctor Strange. This also indicates that Strange may have an adversarial relationship with Wanda in the future.

Another indication occurs in the post-credit scenes, where audiences see Wanda using an astral projection of herself. Fans of Doctor Strange know that creating an astral project takes concentration and energy, as Strange himself is only about to perform it while unconscious. However, Wanda is not only able to do it while conscious, but her projection is even relaxed enough to make some tea and go about its business.

3 Where Was Wanda's Cabin?

The post-credit scene opens with an establishing shot of a seemingly remote cottage Wanda is staying at. This begs the obvious question, "where is this secluded cottage located?" Interestingly, the location has sparked debate amongst fans of the MCU, as it could potentially reference Wanda and The Darkhold's comic book origins.

Many have speculated that the cabin is located near Wundagor Mountain, which is a well-known location in the Marvel Comics universe. According to comic lore, a demon named Chthon created The Darkhold in Mountain Wundagore. With this in mind, it would stand to reason that Wanda has returned to where the book was created to access its true potential.

2 The Powers of Wanda's Book Of Sins, The Darkhold

Towards the end of WandaVision, it becomes abundantly clear that The Darkhold, or The Book of Sins, is an extremely powerful magical artifact, capable of unlocking Scarlet Witch's true powers. In the post-credit scene, audiences see Wanda as Scarlet Witch studying the book, attempting to access its magic.

Wanda's use of The Darkhold provides another unmistakable allusion to her role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as well. As a "Master of the Mystic Arts," Doctor Strange is tasked with protecting the world from "mystical threats," which Scarlet Witch now represents due to her involvement with The Darkhold.

1 The Harrowing Cries of Wanda's Twins

Before the final post-credit scene ends, Wanda's twins' cries can be heard echoing throughout her astral projection. Audiences learned that her twins appear to be a fabricated manifestation of her powers rather than tied to the real world. However, hearing their cries at the finale could potentially indicate they will play a larger role in the MCU.

Wanda is pictured hearing the voices while reading from The Darkhold which, according to the MCU, is able to alter and distort reality. This may foreshadow the fact that Wanda's twins have been resurrected as part of another reality, or perhaps Wanda is in the process of learning to resurrect them herself.
