Currently, WandaVision has an average critic score of 7.85 on a scale of ten, with Rotten Tomatoes users rating it 80 percent Fresh at an average score of 4.15 out of five. The show's critical consensus reads,"Part loving homage to TV history, part off-kilter mystery, WandaVision is a wonderfully weird and strikingly bold step into the small screen for the MCU - and a perfect showcase for Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany."

CBR's own WandaVision review describes the show as being a "delightfully disturbing" twist on the MCU formula, saying "Among all the slapstick gags and laugh tracks, though, lies an undercurrent that beats like a tell-tale heart against an otherwise goofy narrative. If the first three episodes are any indication, this makes WandaVision a fresh and fascinating addition to Marvel's catalogue."

Created by Jac Schaeffer, WandaVision finds Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) living as a married couple in a strange reality that pays tribute to classic sitcoms dating back to the 1950s. In a previous interview, Schaeffer explained how she and the show's writers settled on WandaVision's sitcom homages, saying they had to pass on referencing certain older series "that were not acceptable for today."

"Fairly quickly, we zeroed in on family sitcoms, and there were a lot of different sort of workplace sitcoms and other types of sitcoms, but the family piece kept us very, very centered," she added. "Then, you know, I can't speak to the larger puzzle of what the show is, but that was also a piece that kept us, I think, on the right track."

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
