WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episode 6, "All-New Halloween Spooktacular!," now streaming on Disney+.

In the latest episode of WandaVision, inside the Hex, Wanda, Billy, Tommy and Pietro set off for a fun Halloween night. But while the Vision wears a costume and tells his wife he will be working as part of the neighborhood watch, he actually heads further out of town to investigate the strange goings-on of Westview. There, he eventually finds the Hex barrier, and he attempts to break through it. On the other side, however, the Vision learns that he is rapidly decaying.

In desperation, Wanda pushes her powers to extend the Hex. The barrier then moves beyond the initial perimeter, engulfing the S.W.O.R.D. base and plenty of its agents -- and, as a result, WandaVision has just set up a sitcom return for Kat Dennings.

Before WandaVision, Dennings' last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was 2013's Thor: The Dark World. The character was brought in by S.W.O.R.D. to help them study the phenomenon taking place in Westview, and she proved instrumental in discovering that Wanda Maximoff was at the center of this warped reality. Now, in "All-New Halloween Spooktacular!," Darcy continues to help Monica Rambeau and Jimmy Woo try to save Wanda, but they end up getting kicked out by Director Hayward. However, the trio fights back and they re-infiltrate the compound to find out what exactly Hayward is up to. Monica and Jimmy then leave to meet a contact, but Darcy chooses to stay to find out all she can on.

However, when Vision breaks through the Hex's barrier, Darcy rushes out. She is the only one who tries to help the android, but and is handcuffed to a truck because of it. Unfortunately, being trapped means when Wanda then pushes the boundaries of the Hex to save Vision, Darcy is unable to run away and gets trapped inside the anomaly.

What happens to Darcy is still a mystery, but it's clear that this was a deliberate development. Now, the astrophysicist is trapped in Westview, and it's more than likely that she will return in the next episode as a "new" character in Wanda's sitcom-inspired world. It's possible that this is yet another meta moment for the series, given that Kat Dennings starred on the popular CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls.

Ever since the start of WandaVision, the sitcom episodes have moved progressively through time, honoring one decade of TV to the next. The series' next chapter is now set to emulate the modern era of television, which means that Darcy will now be part of the sitcom life of Westview in an episode that will offer a riff on recent comedy tropes. Now, fans shouldn't expect Dennings to reprise her 2 Broke Girls role, but it's possible the episode will at least offer a nod to the series -- perhaps by having Darcy work as a waitress in Wanda's new reality.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
