WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the second episode of Marvel's WandaVision, now streaming on Disney+.

The first episode of WandaVision set up an interesting premise, with Wanda Maximoff and Vision living in the idyllic town of Westview, trying to fit in as best they can. That episode introduced a small number of characters, but Episode 2 opened things up with several new townspeople.

One of those was a woman named Geraldine (Teyonah Parris). While the episode doesn't specify who this is, the trailers for the series proves that she's not who she claimed to be. She is Monica Rambeau, the Marvel superhero known as Spectrum and, at least in this world, a S.W.O.R.D agent. However, as with everything else in WandaVision, this is all about the slow build.

Wanda and Vision are trying to fit into their new life in Westview, including getting involved with the community. In the beginning of the episode, the couple mention that they are seen as outsiders and possible trouble in the town, which is shown every step of the way. Vision is a complete outsider but finally starts to fit in at the neighborhood watch meeting, and Wanda does what she can at the planning committee for the annual talent show, which raises funds for the school. However, Wanda struggles to fit in. Outside of Agnes (Kathryn Hahn), the other wives barely pay her any mind, and the head of the committee, Dottie (Emma Caulfield Ford), is downright rude to her.

However, there is one person there who is friendly from the start. A new woman in town strikes up a conversation with Wanda at the meeting. Dottie scolds them for daring to speak during the meeting when Wanda introduces herself. The new woman has to pause and think before introducing herself as Geraldine. The two also comment that neither of them knows what they are doing there. However, the two hit it off, and Geraldine is the only person outside Agnes that doesn't seem to be walking on eggshells, whether this is due to Dottie or living in fear of something else.

The two meet up again at the talent show, which Geraldine is stage managing. When Wanda and Vision's act goes bad, thanks to something gumming up Vision's system, Wanda improvises and uses her powers to make all their tricks look fake to help hide their identities. However, one person knows better — Geraldine. Wanda transported her into the box they set up for a disappearing trick. Geraldine seemed a little surprised but nowhere near as surprised as someone should have been after being magically teleported into a box.

Spectrum Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel

Soon, Geraldine will prove to be someone very different — Monica Rambeau. In Marvel Comics, Monica was Captain Marvel for a short time and a member of The Avengers. With Carol Danvers back as Captain Marvel in the comics, Monica went through several name changes, from Photon to Pulsar to Spectrum. She also has a history in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). She appeared as a child in Captain Marvel, the daughter of Carol's close friend Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch). As one of the few humans who knew the Skrulls exist, she eventually ended up with a position as a member of S.W.O.R.D. and might be one of the few people who can help figure out what is happening to Vision and Wanda Maximoff in Westview.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
