WandaVision star Kat Dennings admitted that the series is intentionally confusing its audience -- for now. However, the Thor alum promised everything will come together for a major payoff in the series finale.

Dennings appeared as a virtual guest on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she discussed the addition of her character, Darcy Lewis, to WandaVision and what fans can expect from the miniseries. Dennings said of her character's role in the series, "The first three episodes meant to kind of confuse and mystify the audience and finally someone shows up to kind of represent the audience and tell them, more or less, what's going on, we think."

Although the hit Marvel series has been shrouded in secrecy, dropped multiple red herrings and inspired countless fan theories, Dennings hopes that the audience will hang in there, because it all has a point. "It's a mystery until the end," said Dennings. "Every episode is building and building and I don't know really what happens but there is a massive payoff for pretty much everything in the show."

Dennings made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Thor in 2011 and returned for the sequel, Thor: The Dark World. Dennings credits WandaVision writer, Jac Schaeffer, for giving her character "a whole new life" on the Disney+ series as she works to solve the mystery surrounding Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch's tenuous sanity. Lewis began as Jane Foster's research assistant before becoming a scientist and using her experience with Asgardians to explain what has been dubbed in-show as the Westview Anomaly.

Talkshow host Barrymore commended everyone at the studio for "having the spine to have this mystery be unveiling, demand patience, and create something that isn't a spoon-fed journey where you just know everything." Dennings smiled and agreed with Barrymore's praise saying, "One hundred percent, and I encourage people to pay attention while they're watching."

Marvel Studios presents WandaVision, a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision – two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
