Wandavision is set to debut sometime this winter on Disney+, and anticipation continues to build for the series. The intriguing format breaks many conventions with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and promises to tell a story like no other in the highly successful franchise. As of now, little is known about the actual plot. That hasn't stopped fans from speculating.

Fans of the MCU have unleashed a host of theories on what might be happening in the series and what could happen, based on the trailer and what little has been revealed. Some theories range from the very plausible to the pretty unlikely.

10 Wanda Creates A Pocket Universe

This one is possible. According to a theory by a Reddit user u/mjschryver, the series takes place within a pocket universe that Wanda Maximoff has created. She has altered reality to create a more peaceful life after the tragic death of Vision, which followed her brother and parents' death. The Scarlet Witch certainly has the power potential to pull this off, with many powerful techniques at her disposal. This theory would have major consequences not just for her but for the MCU as well.

9 WandaVision Leads To Electro

Electro Amazing Spider-Man 2

MCU fans got a jolt recently when it was revealed that Jamie Foxx would appear in the upcoming Spider-Man movie as Electro, from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. While details are still unknown, it suggests many possibilities, some of which already appear to be at play in WandaVision. U/mjschryver suggests in their theory that Wanda will break reality into the multiverse at the end of the series when her pocket universe is exposed. Fans know from previous statements by Kevin Feige that the series will tie directly into Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, suggesting that she does play some role in the increasing dimensional weirdness ahead.

8 Monica Rambeau Becomes Spectrum

Spectrum Monica Rambea

Fans already know that Monica Rambeau, who appeared as a child in Captain Marvel, will return as an adult in WandaVision. While her role is unclear, her history in the comics suggests some possibilities. Redditor u/CarolJanNatWanda suspects that Monica is destined to become Spectrum, her superhero alter-ego in the comics. Monica will gain powers due to Wanda's actions and keep them at the end of the series. Monica has had a few different monikers in the comics, including being one of the best versions of Captain Marvel.

7 'Agatha' Is Agatha Harkness

Agatha Harkness

The first trailer for the series revealed Kathyrn Hahn playing Wanda's neighbor Agatha. Reddit user u/tretrey11 believes that she is actually Agatha Harkness. Agatha Harkness has deep ties to Wanda in the comics. She trained Wanda in the art of sorcery, and her role here could be similar, especially given Wanda's eventual rendevous with Doctor Strange.

Agatha also played a key role in Wanda choosing her name, the Scarlet Witch. She has yet to do that in the MCU, but she wears a version of her classic Scarlet Witch costume in the trailer.

6 Vision Will Be Resurrected

Vision's presence in the new series is one of the most intriguing things about it, mainly because he died in Avengers: Infinity War. His death seemed permanent when he didn't return to EndgameU/InkySpirit has a great theory suggesting that Wanda absorbed the power of the Mind Stone when she initially destroyed it and, consequently, the Vision's mind and memories. As a result, his 'soul' lives within her and will find a new body by the end of the series.

5 Wanda Is Jumping Around The Multiverse

Some theories have Wanda shattering the walls between the multiverse in this series. Others have her already moving around in it. Redditor u/TheMediocreCritic says that Wanda is already hopping around different dimensions, realities - leading to the various TV show setups in the trailer - to find a reality where Vision still lives. Her haphazard quest will then lead to the confusion that sets up the problem at the heart of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. It's certainly possible as the comics have some of the darkest universes in the comics.

4 It's All In Vision's Head

Vision With the Mind Stone

Another theory suggests that none of this is Wanda's doing at all. Reddit user u/CdnBison postulates that the entire series and its whacky television show premise is taking place inside the Vision's mind and not Wanda's. Shuri had begun the process of extracting Vision from the Mind Stone in the climax of Infinity War, meaning that he could have survived without it. The series is his scattered thoughts as his mind heals in the aftermath of the terrible battle in Wakanda.

3 Beginnings Of S.W.O.R.D.

The-Peak-S.W.O.R.D.

Another major Marvel Cinematic Universe character coming to Disney+ is Nick Fury. Speculation runs high on that as well, focusing on the possibility of him starting S.W.O.R.D., an outer space version of S.H.I.E.L.D. Redditor u/ebonymowingthegrass believes that the seeds for this will be planted in WandaVision.

They believe that the presence of Monica Rambeau, and her connection to Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel, will lead her to be linked to the Nick Fury show eventually. Throw in FBI Agent Jimmy Woo from the Ant-Man films, and it does seem like there is some credence to the theory.

2 Fox Quicksilver Will Appear

Quicksilver X-Men

Rumors suggest that Evan Peters, who played Quicksilver in the Fox X-Men films, has been cast in WandaVision in some role. Given that Quicksilver is Wanda's brother in the comics (and the MCU), it shouldn't be a surprise that Reddit user u/Cruddy64 believes that the Fox Quicksilver will appear in the series. This may be a product of the interdimensional events going on. As they believe, Wanda is trying to resurrect her dead brother and bring him back slightly different from he was in Age Of Ultron.

1 Wanda Brings The X-Men Into The MCU

MCU-X-Men-Infinity-War

This theory takes the Quicksilver idea a step farther and imagines that the Scarlet Witch will do more than bring one mutant into the MCU. She'll bring them all. Age Of Ultron established that Wanda and Pietro's parents had died. In the comics, their father is Magneto, very much alive. Now that Disney owns Fox and the X-Men rights, these narrative wrinkles can be cleared up by placing Magneto in another universe - the Fox X-Men universe. He sent his children away at a young age to be raised by their 'parents,' who were later killed. However, the X-Men arrive, odds are they will make the MCU better.
