WandaVision director Matt Shakman recently teased "flexibility" in the upcoming series' runtime, hinting to fans that the nine-episode sitcom might contain longer episodes too.

"One of the things about WandaVision is that we played so much with form structure," Shakman told Heroic Hollywood.

"We have been given great permission and flexibility from Disney+ to play around. And definitely, running times is one of the things we played with," the director added.

Previously, Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige stated that runtimes for Marvel Studios/Disney+'s series will fluctuate based on the need of the individual program. "It all varies based on the story that we're telling and only based on the story that we're telling," Feige said.

"There are lots of non-creative reasons for the way a [television] story would be told," Feige added. "Now, there are ways to make all of that work. None of that was a factor when it comes to streaming [on] Disney+, so we got to just say basically, 'Here's what we're thinking, here's how we'd like to do it.'"

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The series premieres Jan. 15 on Disney+.
