This is one of a number of major details about WandaVision that have been revealed as its debut draws closer. Most notably, Disney recently confirmed that WandaVision would have nine episodes in its initial season, more than the previously reported episode counts of six or eight.

WandaVision kicks off a new age of Marvel Studios, delivering programming for the streaming service Disney+. Other Marvel Studios TV shows that will premiere on the service in the next year include The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Ms. Marvel, while other shows on tap for the years ahead include She-Hulk and Moon Knight.

Marvel Studios presents WandaVision, a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) – two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The series premieres Jan. 15 on Disney+.
