Along with the release of the first two episodes of WandaVision, Marvel Studios dropped a featurette that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series, as well as some clues to its overarching story.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige kicked off the featurette by telling fans that Marvel is producing "long-form epic series" for the first time on Disney+. "We have not seen Wanda Maximoff and Vision since the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame," he added. "Where do we go from that?"

"WandaVision fits inside of the larger MCU in that these are characters that we're familiar with and we love, but we're seeing them in a totally new environment and in a new light," said WandaVision head writer and executive producer, Jac Schaeffer.

The show blends everything fans know about Wanda and Vision from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and combines that basis with a classic, 1950s sitcom feel. "For the first episode, it's the start of the sitcom-land," said Wanda actor Elizabeth Olsen. "It's to an audience and we filmed it in front of a live audience."

During the first few episodes, fans are exposed to many elements of classic sitcom television shows. However, Wanda and Vision are already seeing signs that there's something wrong with their ideal suburban life. "This is the MCU, so of course all is not what it seems," Schaeffer said.

According to the featurette, Wanda and Vision's home of Westview seems to be surrounded by a force field or bubble that could be distorting the couple's view of reality. Fans get a quick glimpse at Teyonah Parris' character, Monica Rambeau, as she penetrates the bubble and works with a mysterious organization called S.W.O.R.D. to figure out what is going on in Wanda and Vision's world. The featurette also provided shots of a mysterious beekeeper breaching the neighborhood's peculiar bubble, and Randall Park's character FBI Agent Jimmy Woo racing to help with support from the military.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
