The Agatha Harkness series starring Kathryn Hahn was first reported to be in the works in Oct. 2021. While not much is yet known about the series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos is being developed and written by WandaVision head scribe Jac Schaeffer as part of her three-year deal with Marvel. It was recently reported principal photography for Agatha: Coven of Chaos will begin in January 2023 and last through May. The show will be filmed in Atlanta. No other cast members beyond Hahn have yet been announced.

Agatha Harkness: A Timeline

Hahn appeared in 2021's WandaVision as Wanda Maximoff and Vision's noisy neighbor, Agnes. The seventh episode of the nine-episode series revealed Agnes to actually be Agatha Harkness, a character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby who first appeared in 1970's Fantastic Four #94. After revealing her true identity, Agatha reveals her intentions to steal Wanda's powers, leading to a climactic battle in the final episode of the series. WandaVision ends with Wanda defeating Agatha and trapping her in the city of Westview, New Jersey.

Hahn received an "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie" Primetime Emmy nomination for playing Agatha, among other awards. "Agatha All Along," a catchy song revealing the character's identity heard in WandaVision's seventh episode, won an "Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics" Emmy, with the music and lyrics coming from Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

On returning to the role of Agatha in the new series, Hahn previously said, "[It's] a real turn-on [for her] as a performer in terms of digging into this person a little bit more." She also added, "There is something that does feel so badass to be playing like, you know, we think of a witch, and you think of, immediately, you think of a woman who is loud, who is mysterious, who is dangerous because she's complicated and she's misunderstood."

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to launch in the winter of 2023 and continue into 2024 as part of Marvel's Phase 5 slate. In spring 2024, Marvel will launch an eighteen-episode season of Daredevil, who also appears at the end of Marvel's SDCC She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer.
