“Walking Dead’s” Tyler James Williams Says He Knows Negan’s Victim

“Walking Dead’s” season six finale left fans with one very important question: whose head met with Negan’s barbwire-covered bat Lucille in the episode’s final moments? One cast member is dead, and audiences won’t find out who that is until season seven. But a few people apparently do know who died offscreen; one is current cast member Norman Reedus, who said he knows the truth during an appearance on the “Today” show. Another is, apparently, former cast member Tyler James Williams.

As revealed by Entertainment Weekly, Williams claims to know the victim’s identity. “Yes,” said Williams when asked if he knows who Negan killed. “Yeah, I know.” Williams elaborated, saying that he found out a while ago — in the middle of shooting season six. Williams played Noah on “Walking Dead’s” fifth season, and died just before the season finale.

While he’s no longer on the show, Williams said that he still speaks with the cast and crew. “We all still speak and they kind of keep me up to date and stuff on what’s going on and all of that. … You have to understand [showrunner Scott M. Gimple] knows everything seasons and seasons out, so people knew, but we can’t say anything. No one can say anything. So it’s actually better to say that we don’t know.”

“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC later this year.
