The inaugural season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond came to a heartbreaking end as its characters faced the sinister machinations of the Civic Republic Military (CRM) and their plot to lead humanity through the zombie apocalypse.

An ominous teaser for the second season — expected to be the limited series' last — has the CRM take center stage to issue their mission statement to the world. As the group's leader Elizabeth Kublek is flanked by her troops, she declares that the militia is the world's last, best hope.

The latter half of the season had its young cast of characters rocked by betrayal, leading to their eventual division while unknowingly playing right into the CRM's hands to gain the group's talents for themselves.

The latest spinoff to the main Walking Dead television series follows the first generation of survivors to grow up after the onset of the zombie apocalypse. Set to complete its story over the course of two ten-episode seasons, the series is developed by showrunner Matt Negrete and premiered this past October.

Created by Scott Gimple, Robert Kirkman and Matt Negrete, The Walking Dead: World Beyond stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Nico Tortorella.
