Although the episode won't air until later this year, AMC has provided an early look at The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, which confirms the return of fan-favorite character Maggie Rhee.

The sneak peek at the upcoming episode, titled "A Certain Doom," has Beta lead a massive horde of zombies to attack a hospital occupied by residents of Alexandria. As the besieged defenders rally, Father Gabriel comforts several children inside with them.

While Gabriel delivers his encouraging message to the children, Aaron and Alden battle Whisperers and the detachment of survivors from Charleston continue their return to Virginia. The clip ends with Maggie reading a letter, which reveals to her the Whisperer threat and the losses Alexandria has endured against them, including Jesus and Tara. Early in Season 9, Maggie had departed the main cast, with the character deciding to move from Hilltop to help Georgie build a new survivor community.

While principal photography had wrapped on the season finale this past November, the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused delays with post-production on the episode. As a result, the season finale will air at an unspecified date later this year.

The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews. It airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
