After Michonne's exit from The Walking Dead aired last Sunday, The Walking Dead's Chief Creative Officer, Scott Gimple, teased the possibility of a Michonne-centric film.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gimple spoke on Danai Gurira possibly getting her own Walking Dead film. He mentioned having ambitions to create a film centered around her character, even though there are no plans yet.

"With the films, we definitely have plans. But even beyond the current plans, I have some ambitions," Gimple stated. "I love her and Rick together, but I love seeing her as the pure lead on her own, too. It just so happens that there's a lot of story terrain to cover. But you're right: it's ambitions. Right now, the plans have to do with the feature film."

Previously, Gimple mentioned possibly incorporating Michonne into the planned Rick Grimes-centric trilogy of films since her last episode sent her on a quest to find her significant other.
