As AMC swings a wire-wrapped baseball bat at the eighth season of The Walking Dead, a new trailer showcases next week's intense finale.

Although there has been a slow decline in ratings for Season 8, the past two years of The Walking Dead have been working toward the conclusion of the "All Out War" storyline from the comic books. With producers promising that the April 15 episode "Wrath" will round off the war between the Saviors and the other communities, all bets are off on who will be left standing when the credits roll.

Following the shocking revelations in this week's episode, viewers can see the communities of survivors band together again Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan in what is sure to be a bloodbath. However, as Rick, Maggie and Ezekiel gather their followers to launch a final assault on the Saviors, they are still unaware they're walking into a trap. Elsewhere, suggests the sniveling Eugene and his bullet-making skills will come into play once again.

Things look particularly bad for the likes of Father Gabriel and Dwight, while Jadis is also seen back in her shipping container and presumably putting her own master plan into play. Finally, there is one last chance to see Lennie James as Morgan before he picks up his stick and heads to Fear the Walking Dead for AMC's big crossover event. With Fear's trailer confirming the long-held theory that the show will face a big time jump to match timelines with the original series, it means that Morgan is one of the only characters who is guaranteed to survive "All Out War"

Star Andrew Lincoln has already teased an unusual location for the finale, and while the trailer doesn't reveal where that is, we won't have to wait long to find out. Interestingly, for anyone looking to the comics to find out what should happen in the finale, audiences are warned that it won't play out exactly as it does in the source material. Some are calling for Lincoln's Rick Grimes to kill Negan, but others want Jeffrey Dean Morgan to hang around a little longer as the villainous leader of the Saviors.

Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Lauren Cohan as Maggie Rhee, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, Lennie James as Morgan Jones, Alanna Masterson as Tara Chambler, Josh McDermitt as Eugene Porter, Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan.
