WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 2, “Acheron: Part 2,” which aired Sunday on AMC.

While Maggie, Negan and the Alexandria crew were busy fighting their way through a walker-infested subway tunnel, Yumiko, Ezekiel, Princess and Eugene were still at the Commonwealth facility. Given the trajectory of Season 11, that sub-plot might be more important than anything else currently going on because the development of the Commonwealth looks to be paramount to The Walking Dead’s final season.

Last season on The Walking Dead, Yumiko and her crew set out north to meet up with Stephanie and her mysterious community. Eugene had been communicating with Stephanie via radio, but when they arrived at their planned rendezvous, they were taken as prisoners and have been treated accordingly ever since. Now, in the latest episode, Yumiko is done being cooperative and has a full-on “Karen” moment.

The Walking Dead - Season 11 Mercer and Yumiko

Through the last couple of Walking Dead episodes, Yumiko and company have been through a lot. They were isolated in train cars. They were inspected, interrogated and went through hours of questioning. They nearly escaped in last week’s episode, but Yumiko decided that they needed to stay after she saw her name on the “Wall of the Lost.” The next morning, Eugene was convinced that the guards knew about their attempted escape, and with Ezekiel apparently missing, Yumiko decided to make her presence felt.

Clearly, the only way to get answers was to demand results from the person in charge. So, Yumiko caused a ruckus. She walked up to a guard and demanded to know where Ezekiel was. When the guard told her to calm down, Yumiko said that “there’s no reason for us to continue this conversation. I’d like to speak to someone who can actually give me answers. Who do you report to?”

In disbelief, the guard asked, “You want to speak to my supervisor?” prompting Princess to respond, “That’s right, we want to speak to the manager.” The moment was brief but the “talk to the manager” joke was definitely a Karen-inspired line. The best part about the situation was that it worked. Yumiko was brought back into questioning where she proceeded to question the questioners, eliciting silent disbelief from them. Later in the Walking Dead episode, all four of them were reunited after passing initial processing and recommended for asylum in the Commonwealth.

To see how Yumiko and her group fare in the Commonwealth, tune into Season 11 of The Walking Dead. The series airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC and is available to stream early on AMC+.
