The Equalizer

Popular action franchise The Equalizer is coming to television, with Queen Latifah starring as a new lethal crimefighter named Robyn McCall. After an impressive career working for the CIA, Robyn decides to use her combat and investigative skills to help the less fortunate around her at home while raising her daughter as a single mother.

The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah, Chris North, Tory Kittles, Lorraine Toussaint, Liza Lapira and Adam Goldberg. The series premieres Feb. 7 on CBS.

Fate: The Winx Saga

The popular Winx Club animated series is making the jump to live-action in a new Netflix original adaptation, Fate: The Winx Saga. Following a fairy named Bloom arriving to study at a magical boarding school, the teenager learns how deeply magic is woven into the world around her as she navigates the usual teenage drama, rivalries and romance, all heightened by the supernatural.

Executive produced by Brian Young and Winx Club creator Iginio Straffi, Fate: The Winx Saga stars Abigail Cowen as Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Eliot Salt as Terra, Elisha Applebaum as Musa, Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, Freddie Thorp as Riven, Danny Griffin as Sky, Theo Graham as Dane and Jacob Dudman as Sam. Eve Best, Robert James-Collier, Josh Cowdery, Alex Macqueen and Eva Birthistle also star. The series is now available to stream on Netflix.

Fortnite

A new iconic character has joined the Fortnite fight, with the Predator arriving on the Isle of Storm to embark on an explosive, new hunt. Players that complete a series of task as part of the latest Battle Pass for the popular online game will be rewarded with a Predator-themed skin.

Developed by Epic Games, the Predator Battle Pass to Fortnite is currently available.

HBO Max

With WarnerMedia releasing many of its big ticket feature films directly on HBO Max the same date as their theatrical openings, a new promo for the premium streaming service showcases 2021's upcoming movies. Featuring plenty of previously unseen footage, the sizzle reel includes teases for Godzilla vs. Kong, The Suicide Squad and more to entice audiences.

Hitman 3

One of the biggest video game launches of January 2021 is Hitman 3, which closes out the "World of Assassination" trilogy that began with the franchise's relaunch in 2016. A cinematic launch trailer shows Agent 47 traveling to different locales around the globe, eliminating high-profile targets with extreme prejudice. Marking the franchise's debut on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S, the visuals are absolutely gorgeous as 47 goes right back to doing what he does best.

Developed and published by IO Interactive, Hitman 3 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.

Pixar Popcorn

Academy Award-winning animation studio Pixar is unveiling an entire collection of original short animated films on Disney+ this month titled Pixar Popcorn. Expanding on the classic stories and characters from previous feature films, including Toy Story and the recently released Soul, a promo shows several fan-favorite characters returning for brand-new tales.

Pixar Popcorn will be available to stream on Disney+ starting Jan. 22.

Resident Evil Re:Verse

As a way to thank the fans for their continued support on the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise, Capcom announced the surprise online multiplayer title Resident Evil Re:Verse. Included with copies of Resident Evil Village, the game allows players to control several of the survival horror video game series' most iconic characters and pit them against one another. A closed beta period will be available for PS4 and Xbox One gamers.

Resident Evil Re:Verse will be released with Resident Evil Village on May 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility.

Resident Evil Village

After dropping a terrifying teaser trailer last year, Capcom has shared a full showcase for their bestselling Resident Evil franchise. The centerpiece of the showcase was for Resident Evil Village, with returning protagonist Ethan Winters exploring a snowy, remote settlement. As Ethan finds himself trapped in a new nightmare, he encounters the sinister Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters.

Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.

Space Sweepers

Netflix will be releasing new original movies every week throughout 2021, including the upcoming South Korean science fiction adventure Space Sweepers. A trailer for the film reveals humanity has becoming a spacefaring race by the year 2092, with Earth completely incapable of supporting human life. As salvagers discover an advanced robot, their plans to sell it lead to some unexpected twists and turns.

Directed by Jo Sung-hee, Space Sweepers stars Song Joong-ki as Tae-ho, Kim Tae-ri as Captain Jang, Jin Seon-kyu as Tiger Park, Yoo Hae-jin and Richard Armitage. The film arrives on Netflix Feb. 5.

Superman & Lois

As several Arrowverse series come to an end, The CW's shared television universe is about to gain a new show: Superman & Lois. A trailer for the two-hour series premiere has Clark Kent and Lois Lane moving back to Smallville in the wake of losing their jobs in Metropolis, with their two teenage sons in tow. As the boys learn the truth about their superhero father, the Arrowverse Man of Steel shows his commitment to standing for truth, justice and the American Way.

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks. The series premieres Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 8 pm ET on The CW.

The Walking Dead

While The Walking Dead Season 10 was originally intended to end last year, AMC has produced six bonus episodes. A new trailer shows the main cast of characters taking on new hordes of walkers while hinting at the origins of Negan's infamous baseball bat, Lucille.

The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews. Season 10 returns Sunday, Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on AMC.

A Writer's Odyssey

A twist on meta-textual narratives like Stranger Than Fiction is coming to theaters next month in the Chinese film A Writer's Odyssey. Based on the novel by Shuang Xuetao, a novelist discovers everything he writes apparently comes to pass in the real world, with a recent novel endangering the whole Earth. Revealed as the potential cause of the imminent apocalypse, the novelist is targeted by an assassin in the desperate hopes to save the world as he struggles to stay alive and undo what he has wrought.

A Writer's Odyssey is based on the novel by Shuang Xuetao and directed by Lu Yang, with Ning Hao as executive producer. It stars Dong Zijian, Lei Jiayin, Yang Mi, Yu Hewei, Guo Jingfei and Tong Liya. The film will be released in theaters on Feb. 12.
