Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan could be getting a new look for Season 9 of The Walking Dead. As the hit AMC drama moves toward a new season and a new storyline, it be may preparing for a more comics-accurate appearance for the fan-favorite villain.
Season 8 wrapped up the long-running war between Rick Grimes' survivors and Negan's Saviors, but comic book fans know that isn't the end for the bat-swinging antagonist. If new showrunner Angela Kang follows the comics, Negan will continue to be a major part of the show in the revamped ninth season.
Negan had his throat cut at the end of Season 8, but ahead of the Season 9 premiere, it looks as if he has also gained a haircut. Morgan first posted a photo of him and his son Augustus, which was then shared by The Walking Dead's Twitter account. The image shows the actor without Negan's slicked-back hair, and sporting a shorter beard.
The Walking Dead is no stranger to shocking character changes; Season 8 was made famous for Andrew Lincoln's "Old Man Rick." Considering that the AMC drama is headed for a significant time jump in Season 9, there is every chance that several characters will undergo makeovers.
With The Walking Dead preparing to usher in a new era with the departure of big names like Lincoln and Lauren Cohan, Morgan's role could become even more prominent.
For those itching to know more, remember that Comic-Con International in San Diego is just next week, with The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead set so share Hall H on Friday, Feb. 20.
